The Savings and credit course is designed to help students, startup entrepreneurs and small business managers learn how the "njangi"-a Cameroonian Community Rotating Savings and Credit Scheme- can serve as a risk-free startup capital source and business growth alternative.

Learners will study the risks and challenges of common credit schemes and also the benefits of the njangi. Various models of the njangi will also be exploited in great depth, so as to tickle the creativity of learners in the implementation of models that meet their specific needs. The program is a collaborative learning experience, which can be studied online or on-campus. The program is divided into six modules spread over 16 hours of study time:

  • Module 1: The Economic Mindset
  • Module 2: Introduction to the Njangi Concept
  • Module 3: Analyzing njangi models
  • Module 4: Risk Management
  • Module 5: "Kitchen: banking
  • Module 6: Investment

Other course activities:

  • Company visits
  • Daily learning logs with weekly project plans and execution
  • Project-based Assignments
