The volunteerism course is designed to introduce students to the fact that Volunteering is a foundational element of the human spirit and condition. Groups have banded together to help one another achieve goals for millennia. Volunteering and cooperation goes to the root of our very survival—without it, humans probably would have died out long ago, as we are not the strongest or fastest of creatures.
Volunteering is a healthy choice and will provide students with a whole host of benefits, while also providing their organizations added expertise and scarce labor hours. This course will walk students through a series of steps to help them become a successful and happy line volunteer or volunteer manager.
It is meant to help students with their journey and to position everyone within their organizations to be successful. Students can use lessons learned from this course to help them develop a better understanding of themselves and others. This course will also teach learners about some of the peripheral issues associated with both big and small volunteer organizations.
