FUNIC’s programs are locally and internationally accredited, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education that is recognized both nationally and globally. The university’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its accreditation status, which demonstrates that it meets the standards and criteria of the quality assurance department of the Ministry of Higher Education in Cameroon and other universities around the world. FUNIC is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education of Cameroon: The Ministry of Higher Education of Cameroon provides authorization for all higher institutions of learning in Cameroon. Fotabe University of Cameroon is no exception to this. FUNIC is authorized to operate in Cameroon by MINESUP with authorization number 20-07057L/MINESUP/SG/DDES/SD-ESUP/SDA/LXN.


Admission Requirements

Prospective students interested in enrolling in the School of Management and Finance at FUNIC must meet certain admission requirements. These requirements may include submitting academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and any other documents specified by the university. The admission requirements vary depending on the program and level of study, but generally, they are as follows:

  • Undergraduate Freshmen: Applicants must have completed secondary and high school education with a minimum of four subjects at the ordinary level excluding religion and a minimum of 2 subjects at the advanced level without religion. Passes in subjects, such as mathematics are a requirement for certain programs.
  • Top-Up Degree or B-Tech: Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma or its equivalent in a relevant field from a recognized institution. Applicants who are not currently working must also be willing to follow a work-study option to acquire relevant work experience. Applicants may be required to submit a research proposal and/or take an aptitude test and/or an interview as part of the admission process.

  • Academic Performance: The university considers the academic performance of applicants in their previous level of education, as well as their national tests and examinations. The university looks for applicants who have achieved good grades and demonstrated a high level of academic ability and potential.
  • Motivation and Interest: The university considers the motivation and interest of applicants in pursuing their chosen program of study, as well as their career goals and aspirations. The university looks for applicants who have a clear and realistic vision of what they want to achieve and how they can contribute to their field of study and society either by working, doing business, or engaging in entrepreneurship.
  • Skills and Abilities: The university considers the skills and abilities of applicants that are relevant to their program of study and future career. The university looks for applicants who have developed and demonstrated skills and abilities such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, creativity, community values, leadership, innovation, etc.
  • Character and Values: The university considers the character and values of applicants that reflect the mission and vision of the university. The university looks for applicants who have shown integrity, honesty, respect, responsibility, and professionalism in their academic and personal lives.


Tuition

The tuition fees for programs offered by the School of Management and Finance at FUNIC may vary depending on the specific course of study. The tuition fees cover the cost of instruction, course materials, library access, and other academic services and facilities. The tuition fees do not include the cost of accommodation, transportation, food, and other personal expenses. Financial aid options, scholarships, and payment plans may be available to eligible students to help cover the cost of tuition alone. The following are some of the financial aid options, scholarships, and payment plans that students can apply for or choose from:

  • Financial Aid: The university offers financial aid to students who demonstrate financial need and academic merit. Financial aid may include grants, loans, or work-study opportunities. Students who wish to apply for financial aid must fill out and submit the financial aid application form and provide the necessary supporting documents.
  • Scholarships: The university offers scholarships to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential, and community involvement. Scholarships may cover partial or full tuition fees, depending on the type and amount of the scholarship. Students who wish to apply for scholarships must fill out and submit the scholarship application form and provide the necessary supporting documents.
  • Payment Plans: The university offers payment plans to students who wish to pay their tuition fees in installments over a period of time. Payment plans may vary depending on the program and level of study, but generally, they allow students to pay their tuition fees in two or three installments per semester. Students who wish to choose a payment plan must fill out and submit the payment plan agreement form and pay the required deposit.


Undergraduate Work-Study

FUNIC offers a unique work-study program that allows students to gain practical experience in their field of study while pursuing their education. This program aims to prepare students for the world of work by providing real-life work experience and valuable skills that enhance their employability upon graduation. The work-study allows students to work part-time during the academic year and full-time during the holidays. The program matches students with suitable employment opportunities based on their program of study, skills, and interests.
